  • The AUSA 2016 Annual meeting will be held from 3-5 October 2016 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.  The Junction City-Manhattan group currently has reservations at the Washington Court Hotel, 525 New Jersey Avenue, NW in DC for $269 per night plus taxes.  We have reserved 30 rooms for our two delegations.  No names have been assigned to the rooms, however that decision must be made by the end of August.  Those attending need to provide arrival and departure dates so that they can be matched to reservations.  Currently all reservations are being held with a Manhattan MRC credit card.  Each individual is responsible for travel arrangements.  Each individual must pay for their own room when checking out—check in using your own credit card so that you get the bill, not the MRC.  There is no airport limo from any of the airports to the hotel—you must take a taxi or shuttle van.


     

    Each individual attending must register for the event by going to www.ausa.org.  Each individual will be given a badge that must be worn throughout the time in the convention Center.  Janet Nichols and I will arrive in DC on Friday and pick up the badges for the entire JC-Manhattan group on Saturday and deliver them to the hotel for distribution to attendees on Sunday.


     

    Both Manhattan and Junction City are individually setting up visits to Congressional offices for each city group of attendees.  That information will be provided, when established.  There will be a meeting with the Governor’s Military Council lobby firm on Monday after the Chapter Luncheon at Clyde’s.  Their office is within reasonable walking distance from the restaurant.

    Sunday, October 2 –         Chapter Presidents & Delegates Reception/Dinner

    Monday, October 3 –         Opening Ceremony (Convention Center)

                                         Chapter Luncheon (Clyde’ Restaurant in Chinatown)
                                         (Reservations required and payment in advance is desired—details to follow with the invitation)

                                          President’s Reception (Convention Center)
                                          (Reservation required-- make when registering for the Annual Meeting and getting your badge)

    Tuesday, October 4 -          Eisenhower Reception and Luncheon (Convention Center) (Reservations required same as for President’s Reception)

                                          Chapter Evening Social (Convention Center)

    Wednesday, October 5 -      George Marshall Memorial Reception and Dinner (Convention Center)(Registration same as for President’s Reception)

    Monday thru Wednesday -      Various Seminars; Exhibits Open 9AM-5PM (Convention Center)
